Good evening, welcome to Rock Hall School - Preparatory education for boys and girls 3 - 13 yrs

Rock Hall School is located in the peaceful, picturesque village of Rock, five miles from Alnwick and ideally situated to serve the whole area of North Northumberland.

The Hall itself, which has been in the Bosanquet family for two centuries, is a former Jacobean manor house with two wings added by the noted Victorian architect John Dobson. It stands in its own grounds of 5 acres and is the principal building of the village. The school is run by a Charitable Trust which has a long lease on the building and surrounding grounds

The education given by the dedicated staff at Rock Hall centres on warmth, encouragement and family atmosphere in a rural setting, thereby enabling children in our care to progress and reach their full  potential, whilst also experiencing the sense of freedom that their surroundings offer.

We are very much a family orientated school providing the secure environment where children flourish. We find that children transfer to their next schools with confidence and enthusiasm, which have been instilled by the broad and thorough grounding they receive at Rock.

Entry Policy

We look for the child who is going to benefit from the education we have to offer and who will enjoy the benefits of a small school. We ask for parental support, co-operation and interest. Rock Hall is not an academically selective school.
