School Structure

At Rock Hall the school is organised so that specialist teaching is introduced gradually, enabling the youngest children to have the security of a class teacher while the oldest receive the 'subject' teaching they require.

At the age of 7+ the day is extended to 4.00 pm, enabling us to cover the many activities usually grouped as extra curricular. All children are thus involved in drama, music and sporting activities.

Initially, children are taught all subjects by their class teacher, but the amount of specialist teaching increases as the children progress through the school.

At the age of 12+, children study Science, Mathematics, French, History, Art, IT, Geography, CDT, English, Music, PE, RE and Agriculture. The National Curriculum is the foundation of the syllabus but we are able to offer a broader programme and we are not restricted by Government literacy and numeracy strategies.
